Primary Care Adult Nurse Practitioner
Penni Vachon, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC, CLR-Ch has been a registered nurse since she graduated with her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from the New Hampshire Technical Institute in 2004. Dr. Vachon completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2009 from Excelsior College in Albany, New York. Dr. Vachon completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2010 through the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a focus as an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Vachon is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. In 2017 Dr. Vachon graduated from the UAB with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
In August of 2017 Dr. Vachon opened the Lowcountry Wellness Center. She is growing her practice with a love of nursing, nurturing, and a holistic approach to care. In 2018 Dr. Vachon received her certification in limited radiography (chiropractic) through the State of South Carolina, this is the designation CLR-Ch you see after her name.
Dr. Vachon is excited to help her patients improve their quality of life. She believes in a holistic approach to treating her patients. She treats her patients as she would if they were family, with caring and kindness.
In 2019 Dr. Vachon was awarded the Post & Courier Charleston’s Choice Award for the Best Family Doctor. In 2020, Dr. Vachon and her practice were awarded Finalists for the Post & Courier Charleston’s Choice Award for Best Family Doctor, Best Primary Care Practice, and Best Regenerative Medicine Practice.
In 2019 she began her spiritual journey and became a Reiki practitioner. She was trained in Level 1 and Level 2 Usui Reiki by Kris Pratt. In 2020 she completed her Usui Reiki Master/Teacher training with Keely Nichols. Dr. Vachon is also an ordained Minister.
Dr. Vachon is actively involved in the local nurse practitioner community, the Lowcountry Advanced Practice Nurses. She is also an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and the South Carolina Nurses Association.
Dr. Vachon has taught classes on pain management and orthopedics at various nurse practitioner conventions and meetings. She also precepts nurse practitioner students from various nursing schools, including the Medical University of South Carolina School of Nursing. To continue her passion of teaching, she also tutors doctoral nursing students.
Dr. Vachon married her high school sweetheart at the age of 18 and together they have 3 beautiful daughters. Kaitlin is self-employed and owns Socially Thriving LLC, a social media management company focusing on nurse practitioner owned private practices. Hailie is currently in nursing schools and hopes to become a nurse practitioner like her mother. Rebekah lives in Colorado and is completing her degree in graphic design. Dr. Penni has a love of cats, especially the 4 fur babies she has at home.
